March 28 – Revelation 19:13

"And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God." (Revelation 19:13)

A "vesture dipped in blood" is one of the most awesome pictures describing the love of Christ for His Bride! Take a moment and close your eyes picturing His love for you as He bears the stain of your sin on His holy raiment.

That blood represents our sin that has been washed away. It stands out in stark contrast to the pure white raiment of our Lord as He is robed with splendor and glory. A garment of such expense has never existed in all of eternity. An unfathomable price was paid for a garment a blood. And, our Lord displays the blood-stained vesture representing His victory over death, hell, and the grave!

Because our Savior was willing to wear a garment of blood, consider what we are allowed to wear. Isaiah 61:10 says, "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with jewels". Revelation 19:6-8 gives us a glimpse of what we will be wearing as part of the bride of Christ at the marriage supper of the Lamb . . . "And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints."

You will be adorned with garments of salvation that, like the garments the children of Israel wore while wandering in the wilderness, will never wear out!

For an interesting study, spend some time learning about garments, raiment, clothing in the Word of God. For instance, as difficult as it is to comprehend that the Lord not only had to lay down His life for me but also had to lay down His dignity. The King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Holy One of Israel, was stripped and hung up on a cross. His garments were parted and they cast lots (or gambled) for His garments. But although He had been stripped of His garments, His Father saw Him completely clothed with a "vesture dipped in blood".

All I can say is, "HALLELUJAH! WHAT A SAVIOR!"

Father, I come before you so amazed at your great love for me. Every day that passes I understand more about Paul's letter to the Ephesians, "That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God." The depth of love and displayed in every detail of Calvary, far surpasses knowledge. My Lord and my God, how awesome Thou art! Oh Lord, may I never forget the price You pay for me! In Jesus name, amen!
